The weight-supporting outer frame of the pollen trap is constructed of 19 mm (3/4 in.) lumber to form a rim about 76 mm (3 in.) deep. The balance is made of 6 mm (1/4 in.) plywood. Pollen yields vary according to season and location. In some areas as much as 0.45 kg (1lb.) per day has been trapped from a single hive.
